British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
