Larry Summers Resigns from AI Company's Directors
Ex-Treasury chief Lawrence Summers is leaving the directorate at the ChatGPT creator, just a week after a collection of digital correspondence between him and late convicted sex offender the accused trafficker became widely known.
Summers commented in a release that he was "appreciative for the opportunity to have participated, excited about the promise of the enterprise, and eagerly await tracking their advancement".
The former Harvard president, who once led Harvard University, declared on recently that he would be withdrawing from public roles due to his connections with the convicted sex offender.

The newly public messages demonstrated that Summers corresponded with Jeffrey Epstein until the day before the financier's 2019 detention for suspected trafficking of underage individuals.
In additional comments, the artificial intelligence company expressed it accepted Summers' decision to resign.
"We appreciate his many contributions and the insight he brought to the directors," the company remarked.
Legislative Background
This announcement arrives after both chambers of the legislative branch agreed on recently to pass a measure that would mandate the federal prosecutors to release its records on Epstein.
The legislation will subsequently head to the administration of US President Donald Trump for signature. The President has indicated he plans to endorse the bill, after modifying his stance on the subject following pressure from his supporters.
