Salah Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team following the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match following making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
