Trump's Granddaughter Receives Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
This young athlete boasts impressive social media following
Kai Trump will have multiple high-profile backers when she begins her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses several courses worldwide and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just stay calm."
"He essentially told me to play and have fun," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him quite busy."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
But she's able to get advice from golf legend, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete worldwide," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to play, relax, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against several top competitors in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to new audiences, specifically with younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
